We’ll come together for three live, interactive workshops led by Poppy Davis and Katie Brimm of Farmer Campus to dig into the nitty-gritty of financial resilience through stories — examining real case studies from across the west, collected by Farmer Campus, unpacking what shaped recovery, and exploring what made operations vulnerable in the first place.

Course FAQ
Led by seasoned educator in federal agricultural policy and western farming systems Poppy Davis. Davis is a business and policy adviser to agricultural and food and beverage enterprises, and to nonprofits and local governments. She holds a Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School, a Masters in Journalism from Georgetown, and a BS in Agricultural Economics from the University of California at Davis. She’s led hundreds of trainings on business resilience for farmers.
Katie Brimm brings 15 years of experience in agricultural education, live course facilitation, and storytelling. She leads farmer-centered climate and economic initiatives in the West. A Yale Public Voices Fellow and published author, she has interviewed 50+ producers and co-developed 30+ curriculum modules and six certificate programs through Farmer Campus.
Farmer Campus is a farmer-serving online educational organization. Since 2019, we’ve reached more than 3,000 producers through online courses, multimedia learning, and peer networking. Our programming is farmer-driven, shaped by ongoing needs assessments, and designed to strengthen on-farm decision-making, financial stability, and long-term viability. We work closely with partners to support producers across the West.
Short course hosted on Farmer Campus: Online multi-media modules containing stories and practical educational videos paired with three recorded live webinars led by Poppy Davis and Farmer Campus.
Course materials are highly applicable for western farmers, ranchers, orchardists and folks with land-based businesses. Come with an interest in disaster financial resilience in an agricultural context and real-world stories.
While the content is accessible for many different learning backgrounds and styles, this course is currently tailored for those with a minimum of basic English reading and comprehension.
