As a Colombian immigrant working in three continents, Natalia has seen the diversity of ways that farmers and peasants are impacted by and responding to climate change. In addition to co-running Farmer Campus, she specializes in agroecology as a means to reduce on-farm and global climate risk as a PhD Candidate in Geography at UC Davis. As a biologist and science education specialist, Natalia has created three web-based learning communities, built 30 online curriculum modules and led four online certificate programs which have supported over 1,500 multicultural farmers.

Leah Atwood helped co-found Farmer Campus while the idea was still germinating and help garner the orginal resources to get it off the ground. Leah visioned a world of connecting farmers across the globe through an online learning platform. While Leah is not currently part of Farmer Campus as it is today, she now collectively runs the nonprofit Agroecology Commons
